If you like what I'm doing, and you want to help, you can always buy me a Coffee....
The storms last night were a little stronger than expected. There's a couple of trees down on the #glacialdrumlintrail. It's not impossible, but it does take some cyclocross skills to get through them.
It's also incredibly humid. Scuba gear optional today.

My bike. It goes to 11.
Thanks to @kustomcaps for the design!

Apparently the people at @velocityusa love seeing their products in use, so here ya go. Aileron wheels on my @salsacycles Warbird and on @teravail Rampart tires.
Taken at the #Milwaukee #TourDeCure last weekend, I was route marshal / sweeper on the 30 mile route.
#TourDeCure Milwaukee in the books!
I've got a bit to say about it, but not right now. I will say that volunteering is well worth it. As the clean up ride marshal I met a lot of people, had a really good ride, and in all had a fantastic time.
There's nothing quite like doing a midnight refuel by the light of your tail lights. Not joking, I have not seen another human being for 2 hours. Raccoons, bats, can dogs? Yes. And deer, lots of deer.

@nuunhydration hydration, @salsacycles Warbird, @teravail Rampart tires, @rockgeist bags, fueled by whatever is in the local @kwiktrip tonight.
This is part of the, "fun" of being a #diabetic. The insurance games.
Because of corporate shuffling, I had to change insurance. The new insurance is forcing me to use a "OneTouch" reader. or, I can choose to purchase whatever I want out of pocket. Which is great, except test strips cost $30 to $60 depending on brand.
I've been arguing with the insurance for a few days now because the one touch meter does not work. There are literally millions of complaints at the FDA about it. The insurance company, of course, doesn't believe me because they struck up a business deal with one touch. So, one test is worth 1,000 expert opinions, so I did this.
One blood stick, 3 glucose meters that I happen to own, each test within seconds of the other. On the bottom, a Freestyle Libre & Accucheck. The top, one touch. The results are painfully obvious.
I'm learning, however, that this is standard operating procedure for #diabetes. The social expectation is that type 2 diabetes is a social disease, and since you brought it on yourself you deserve to be gouged for the rest of your life. I'm tired of it. And quite frankly, I would rather not use a meter then be forced to use one that gives me bad information.
We'll see how this fight ends up, put in the short-term I'm very angry and frustrated. Here's your evidence world, but nobody seems to believe me.

One of the sad facts of living in America is that our infrastructure is crumbling. If you've ever ridden anywhere outside of the city, you'll see that pavement can be in any condition from rideable to non-existent.
I shot this footage about a month ago outside of Madison Wisconsin. And in this case, it wasn't that bad. But having written my tour right way out in the countryside, this seemed like fresh pavement.
one of the reasons I ride a gravel bike with super wide tires on open road is because the conditions are damn near off-road in a lot of places. I genuinely feel bad for roadriders with skinny tires, I don't know how they could possibly deal with the bone rattling.

So the decals on my @safetypizza got torn off when I hauled my bike down the highway a while back. But thanks to @sewardstreetstudios I put some hyper reflective scrap pieces on there and made it a Chicago style safety pizza! Sausage, green peppers and onions!
